I must withdraw from xanga. 

Xanga has some incredibly lewd and disturbing ads that they boldly put on people’s xangas.  I have seen at the top of some sites ads that should make people blush.  Things that should shock people.  Things that should not be allowed.  What am I doing about it?  I have been passively endorsing it by doing nothing.  This cannot go on.

Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Far too often today, Christians are conforming to this world.  True, they may not be clicking on those ads, but by not doing anything, they are endorsing it.  Christians today are not shocked by things that should be horrific.  We have allowed ourselves to become influenced by the things of this world.  Well, we might tack on a Christian angle by just discreetly looking away if there is a lewd ad.  But what good does that accomplish?

Yes, I can get rid of those ads on my site by getting premium.  But I should not and will not give money to support this site that openly endorses shameful things.

I am going to write to xanga.  I do not want to stand idly by any longer, sadly shaking my head at these things and doing nothing about it.  Please, please join me in this endeavor.  As Christians we should not endorse things such as this, either actively or passively.  Please write to xanga.  Please strive to make a difference.

Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

So I must withdraw from xanga.  I will not continue posting unless there is a change in xanga policy.  At this point I will not even use my xanga for commenting purposes.  I do not want to do this...I want to be able to have a place to blog and get comments and stay in touch with friends.  But I cannot do it here.
